Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training now requires up to 6 additional years beyond dental school, of hospital based surgical and anesthesia experience. As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Stewart manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Stewart practices a full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from Orthognathic Surgery to Wisdom Tooth Removal and the treatment of Oral Pathological conditions. He can also diagnose and treat Facial Pain, Facial Injuries and TMJ disorders, and performs a full range of Dental Implant procedures.
| | Because of the scope of practice in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, it is necessary for oral surgeons to obtain hospital privileges. Dr. Stewart holds appointments to several local hospitals and has served as Chief of Surgery at Medical Center of Plano.
Dr. Stewart's staff is trained in assisting with IV Sedation and General Anesthesia within our state of the art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. Our office has undergone the Office Anesthesia Evaluation by the Texas Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. In addition, General Anesthesia provided by a board certified Dental Anesthesiologist is available within our facility. Surgical Staff Dr. Stewart’s surgical staff are experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of IV Sedation and surgery. All staff are involved in improvement in their skills and knowledge through professional continuing education, well-versed in health and insurance policies and are Healthcare Provider CPR certified. Our surgical staff have completed the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons – Anesthesia Assistants Program. Administrative Staff The office staff are also involved in maintaining the highest standards. They have many years experience in the medical and dental field and have attained advanced training and are Certified Medical Insurance Specialists.
